What am I Doing Here?

Just waiting for Ike

Well here I am sitting and going through several websites that I have visited now at 4:25 CST/daylight savings time, waiting for the Hurricane Ike to come ashore. I am about a little more than 35 miles away from the shore. Television pictures already show waves that would hit the top of a house and streets that are so flooded that one would need very big boots to walk in the area.
A few people in my neighborhood have boarded up their windows and some have taped their windows. I can't find my stupid tape so I am going to take a chance. I only blame myself if something happens. But on the other side I am with the majority. Or should I say stupid majority. Who knows?
I am a little bored. I do have some work to do. I have watched enough news broadcasts that I think I know what each person might say by heart. I cannot get other channels because there is no sound. I have a slight problem with my cable.
The news people or more specifically the weathermen say that the worst is yet to come. The winds will pick up after midnight and there should be some rain that would come down in hard torrents. So again, here I am. Waiting for Ike. Bored. And just can't think of much to say. I hope that I'll be smiling tomorrow and feeling better with the passing of the storm. I also pray that the people who might have to face the bad situation will come through it okay.
