I arrived home nearly twenty minutes later than what I should have. I now realized that staying after school was a pretty stupid idea. Especially since I didn't know if I would become a member or not. But I now knew why Stephanie had told me that she was in trouble.

I entered the house, amazed to see that dad was not waiting at the doorway as he was the night I broke curfew. Instead, he confronted me in the kitchen.
"Why are you so late?"
"I needed gas."
"It doesnt take fifteen minutes to get gas."
"It does when you don't have enough money to pay for it."
"So you.....stole it?!"
"No....I could only get a little..so I took what I could get. It was a long, complicated process."
I guess my dad bought it, which really surprised me. I mean seriously, I didn't buy it.
I always hated that I was such a bad liar.
