Enga mellom fjella

Enga mellom fjella ...

I chose fjella over fjorden.

In other words ... for now ... I will be in Missoula ... for a month. Before then I'll know if I should stay here longer.

I could've should've would've had a room in Seattle. A very nice room, in fact. But ... Missoula has enchanted me ... for now.

There is no way of knowing whether this is the right choice. How does one ever know? I've made decisions after deep thought and on a impulse. Neither way guarantees happiness or tranquility.

I fret and fret and knot myself up to the point I am ill. Britte told me yesterday how it took her 3 months to find a place ... Patience is a virtue. (if you find her put a noose around her neck, she's on my shit-list.)

Why stay here? The people. Nicest folks I've ever met. I need to make up 'business cards' to hand out. I meet new people every day. All types of folks. And there are artists and writers here ... everywhere.

I feel at home living downtown where deer gallop down the streets ("Northern Exposure" here I am!), where there is a small town atmosphere, where I can sit here at Butterfly Herbs and be reminded of the 70s (without my angst). I like it here.

Sure ... the mountains need to be flattened, but I'm a minority of 1 when I mention that. But, I'll admit ... it's not devastating to step out my door and see Mt. Sentinel.

Now the name of my blog is true: I am the meadow (enga) between (mellom) mountains (fjella).

Montana: 72 cloudy! degrees. It sprinkled!!
