Bad luck of the back kind
Update: Re: 6/13, Kittens.
They are still here. I am afraid that I am falling under their irresistable charm. Not only that I think that Stubby likes them. At least he likes the girl, June. Sorry Stubby. They need to stay as a pair. And I have found, with fingers crossed, a good home. This lady has already seen them and wants to bring them home after she and her family has moved into their new home. Good luck. I also extracted a promise that if the family does not want them, I get them back. No CAPS. They have had their shots and medicine for all of those nasty litty buggies like campybacter. Boy, do they hate their medicine. It looks nice but their reaction is obvious. Ha Ha.
Now for the big news of the day. No drum roll in necessary.
I went to the Comets game last night. During the game, the dancers throw new shirts into the stands. People can be very excited and or carried away to get one of the shirts. But I never thought that someone would push another person out of the way to get a shirt. That person fell on me. I fell hard on an empty chair and felt that someone was trying to crush my body, more exactly my back with a truck. The pain was humongous. Several people rushed to help me. A paramedic tried to help me but since there were only 2 minutes left I wanted to stay to the bitter and I mean BITTER end. Stupid mistake.
I wanted to go home but really had planned to go to an emergency clinic, which I finally did. It takes forever to get out of the place when the game is over. An attendant tried to get someone to walk me to my car, but it took so long that I thought, to _ _ _ _ with it, I can crawl faster to my car. (which is almost what I had to do.)
Now at the clinic, people did not seem interested (?) or concerned (?) that I was creeping in and could barely talk to tell them that I was in an accident. I was not amused. I finally got in. Then had to wait again. And then finally was seen by a doctor. (Yes I know the MASH rule that in a tirage that the more severe patient is seen first. "It is the patient who cannot talk and who is bleeding the most buckets of blood who is seen first," replied Hawkeye to a soldier in an episode.)
The report was that I have a fractured rib and luckily it was not a complete dislocation. (Should I be smiling at that fact?)
I managed to trudge home. I got into bed and could not sleep or breathe. Allergies.
Finally I went to sleep in an old and cruddy recliner. Lucky me!
I must have slept a little. Because I woke up just before my alarm was to go off.
I decided to cancel the convention that I had paid good money to go to. I was very uncomfortable driving.
So here I am at the computer. I am happy to try to get things up to date and start some good work. Who knows, maybe even a poem or short story can be written from this kind of experience. I even plan to go to the Comets game Saturday.
More later......if I can.
