Spirtual Gifts

Read: 1 Corinthians 1-11, Romans 12:4-8, Ephesians 4:11-13
First, let me clear up a misunderstanding that you may be pondering right now. Spiritual gifts are different than abilities. Abilities are talents that you receive when you are born. Spiritual gifts are gifts that you receive when you become a Christian. Each believer receives at least one spiritual gift, and possibly more. Spiritual gifts are given to benefit and further Christ's body: The church. The Holy Spirit is the source of all spiritual gifts (Hence the name) and the Spirit also chooses and distributes gifts. We recieve different types of gifts, but it is still the same God doing the work in us. We use our gifts for all purposes, but the same Spirit is still the source of its power.
