it's only money
June 12, 2008--Expenditures.
One round-trip BART ticket, Macarthur/Embarcadero stations: $6.20.
Seven back parking tickets plus penalties: $550.00.
One round-trip United Airlines ticket, San Francisco to Philadelphia: $592.15.
One spinach-and-cheese quesadilla with sour cream and guacamole: $6.95. (NOT worth it.)
Of all the things I spent money on today, none of which I have anything to show for, I am the most angry about the parking tickets, which, of all of them, were the most clearly my own fault.

I spoon with my laptop every night. Most nights I fall asleep with one hand on the touchpad and two browser windows still open: one playing Arrested Development, one on some flash game. Last night I dozed off playing The Waitress. Normally I have the wherewithal to shut the computer down before I fall asleep, but here, I stall on that, because once it goes black, I'm by myself in the total darkness of the room.
I think if anything happens to my laptop while I'm in San Francisco, I'm going to die. Not even exaggerating.
