Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.

Weaning (a poem)
Weaning

This is the weaning,
the slow turning away from tits
to suck on whatever pacifies:
fresh fruit, good drugs, hot sex.
The soul craves for deliverance
from these long drags,
the body longs for debauchery,
each breathless moment
that takes us back to the womb.
Such is the promise of the tomb,
that tight home provided us by Death
to wean us from all desires.

ME:

Okay ... must do sorting and packing every day. Must find a new place to stay. Must decide what vehicle to get (or not). Since I avoid decisions like the plague, I could be in for a rough month. May 1st looms.

The weather is gloomy again today. We haven't gotten the rain that was promised, just the clouds. There's enough moisture in the ground, but still ... it helps spring come quicker.

My mother says they had a couple inches of snow; R says that there's plenty of the white stuff in Portland, Maine. I have forsythia in bloom. And some of the daffs around town are out.

And if I'd gone to Tulsa this weekend as originally planned; it would've been perfect.
