A first!!

What comes across as better news than Johnny Marr (ex-Smiths guitarist) joining Modest Mouse is the fact that the library is now open on Sundays, leading this to be my very first ever blog entry on a Sunday! Go ahead, check my stats...see that lil calendar on the left? No Sundays are highlighted until today! I was so excited, I kinda shaved and went out and got a haircut just for the occasion. I know, I'm a big freakin' dork. But you'll have that. Don't mind me, I'm a little hyper and I think I may have overdosed on Mountain Dew Amp (for those who are unaware, I quit coffee and have severely lowered my caffeine intake, so when I have an energy drink it goes right straight to the nervous system). My fingertips feel like a many million pinpricks, making typing very erratic and painstaking. It's so bad...but I don't wanna be good.

My very own personal quote of the day (go ahead and steal it, y'all have my blessings): "Ain't nothin' sweeter than writing a pen outta ink from start to finish."

And from the department of "I swear, sometimes this blog writes itself", comes the feel-good story of the day: For as long as I've lived in this community, I swear I've never seen this before...the Lancaster Fire Department is holding their "Fill The Boot" fundraising drive. Broadway's a pretty busy street, but these guys are out in the middle of intersections with boots collecting money for Children's Hospital. In the middle of the freaking street! And amazingly enough, I'd say about 90% of cars driving by actually stop and donate (which is very cool), as if they knew about this in advance. I thought I knew everything going on around here...I guess not (and yes, I know you're concerned, I donated all the change I had in my pocket...why not, it's a good cause).

So happy Sunday everybody...I got some work to do...
