Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.

This House
This House

This dingy yellow house will blush
blue tomorrow, another layer
to hide the shame of paint
that can't outlast the shingled frame:
gold, green, red and green again,
each a coat that once gleamed
back at eager boys with brush in hand,
now bearded, bent and not so bold.
They've aged and still the house
sags older by a century.
Tomorrow grime will be removed,
the flakes fresh scraped and primed.
Tomorrow by this time,
the house will gleam anew,
jaundiced clapboards covered
by a sea of blue.

ME

I'm fine. Remembered to pay the rent! *Bigsmile* Got some pound cake. Couldn't mail stuff because it was over 13 ounces ... don't ask what my thoughts are about that!

Lost this entry due to the insanity of the library's computer system ... not this time. *Pthb*

Does anyone have a thought about a Samsung phone/computer versus an ASUS mini-laptop? A can get a new phone from Verizon with $100 off and am looking to get a small laptop for traveling. My Compaq is great! But ... I'd rather leave it safely at home than lug it all over America. *Smile*

Kansas: sunny and 50s.
