Zunami

And waves lap at the shores
of Mozambique to Zimbabwe,
warning of earthquakes in the south.
The winds of fortune have turned about
and the vast veldt rumbles and churns.
Time has run out with a lion's roar
and grass arises with spears.
Hear, O hear, old Zuma's voice,
as waves march north with cheers.

Zuma was elected ANC's new leader in South Africa. His followers speak of a zunami; therefore, the poem! It is believed that Zuma would take South Africa in a slightly different direction from Mbeki especially concerning AIDS and Zimbabwe. However, old charges of corruption are creating a stir.

I'm counting my days ... not till Christmas ... till peace and quiet!

Then next weekend I get to spend some time with a friend over the "New Year's" weekend. Does that make me "Father Time" ... ouch. We may even make a trip through the open ranch land prairies of the Flint Hills ... we'll see.

Next big trip? How about Mississippi? Still can't figure out how to get to Tahlequah ... a bus used to run through there. Getting to and from Missoula Montana is harder now that the Central Wyoming (Cody, Lovell, Riverton) route has been discontinued.
