Memoirs of Enna
Memoirs of Enna

1

I held you in my arms
and drenched in blood,
etched thin pages
upon my palms,
then cut the stone to
hold the cup of memories,

while in my heart your psalms
still stirred cool waters,
removed the dross
that sought to hide
eternal longing,
life-sucking loss.

My hands carressed
that marble bust,
cold stone that quivered
deep inside,
and with the touch of lips on lips
sealed fast our love
two thousand years apart,
two thousand years to come.

2

When will our torch burn out?
When blares the supernova's blast;
when comes cold unrelenting night,
when we will be conjoined again at last!

3

One day we lay atop the peak of Enna
and watched the fires of Etna flail,
consume all tears.
yet its heat could not match our passion,
glowing embers that fan the tales
told through two thousand years.

I did not realize when I originally wrote 'di Enna' that a place called Enna actually exists. It's in Sicily. Here's the link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enna

So, of course I changed a few words to make it fit even better! *Smile*

It does not fail ... whenever I've lost an entry it has been a long one that is impossible to recapture. The poetic sketch above was lost. The notes are very different from the above so I tried to recapture what I had written. Once gone ... my mind forgets. It's why I write on paper and save to files.

So I'm upset and the rest of this blog is gone too ... I'll post this and worry about the rest later.

Kansas: 58º on a bright sunny morning, warming up.
