Her Tears Were The Crystal Stair 04-29-07
Her tears were the crystal stair upon which he climbed,
The more she wept, the higher he went and the harder the heart,
The higher he went, the further she fell until she couldn't see the sun,
And for lack of sun and love she cried and her tears built the stair he climbed.

Her tears were the crystal stair upon which he climbed,
She sat upon the base step and wept, weaving the path for him,
She withdrew deeper into herself and forgave him all his cruelties,
While the sorrow covered her innocent soul at the bottom of the tear formed stair.

Her tears were the crystal stair upon which he climbed,
His anger was the fuel for the fear that plagued her sleepless nights,
His inconsideration was the reason that she took her own life silently,
Dressed in white covered in blood at the bottom of the crystal stair formed by her tears.

Her tears were the crystal stair upon which he climbed,
They crumbled beneath his feet as he climbed without concern,
Irritation turned his head and he saw his lady love dead, no longer weeping,
The tears that formed the crystal stair he tread upon, high above the world and life.

Her tears were the crystal stair upon which he climbed,
But her death brought an end to the stair that rose and spun,
His fall to the earth shattered his soul and left him pained beside his love,
Who could no longer stand to build the stair of tears for him to rise above her.

Her tears were the crystal stair upon which he climbed,
And her blood was the price paid for the stair that rose high,
Her life was lost to the shadow of the stair and the man who climbed,
Unconcerned of her tears, the tears that she wept for him, never seen, never counted.

Her tears were the crystal stair upon which he climbed...

Her death was the cause of the fall that ended his life.
