Rationalize

You're obviously a liar.
[You mean it's really true?]
Dad has so much life.
[My dad's life is drained?]
He can't be dead.
[He's gone for good?]
How, anyway?
[In such a horrible way.]
Killed, you say?
[My daddy has been shot.]
What are you talking about?
[I hate the truth.]
You must have the wrong man.
[There is no mistake.]
Dad's far too careful for that.
[What happened, dad?]
So unlike him.
[Why weren't you careful?]
I could laugh right now.
[I want to die.]
But I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
[We're all in this together now.]
You all believed this garbage?
[I can hardly believe it.]
You're all denser than I thought.
[How can you just sit there?]
Dad?  Killed?
[No!  No!]
Not likely.
[Reality.]
