Chocolate Lovers Delight

Can anything be so decadent?
Hot black coffee consumed with double dark chocolate bunt cake
On stripe of vanilla frosting on top of chocolate.
Can anything be more desirable?
One slice cut from the cake indicates self-control or
Lack of time to sit down and eat the whole cake at once or
A cake that’s been in the cupboard one day.
The cake sits in the middle shelf, waiting for me to
Eat it one slice at a time.

Looking for new taste experiences
Opens the mind to experimentation with food,
Visual clues in the refrigerators indicate
Exactly what I’m planning for the next three pieces.
Reason or memory assures me that the tastes will be complementary.
Success is eating the combinations.

Do I begin with the can of mixed fruit or the condensed milk?
Either one or both together are good decisions.
Leftover coffee waits heating in the microwave.
I could, of course, heat the coffee and pour it over the cake
Giving myself an entirely new taste experience,
Hot coffee poured over chocolate cake, is something
That I’ve never tried before.
