Chilly in the House and Other Stuff
I’m not going to grip about the weather in Las Vegas. I don’t know what the long range forecast is because I haven’t watched the news much lately. I do know it hasn’t gotten into the triple digits yet. I turned the air on (I think) on Sunday or Monday. It hasn’t came on while I’ve been in the house, so I don’t think it’s come on while I’m gone. It does get a little chilly in the house around dawn, but that’s OK because I can put a sweater if necessary. As long as the air stays off, the electric bill will stay below $200.

It’s been nice enough lately that I can open the sliding doors and let the cats out on the patio. This morning Prince asked me to open the door. I didn’t open it as early as normal. Usually I let them out before I make coffee, so I guess Prince was a bit upset that I hadn’t opened it yet.

They moved my Mom to the Vegas Valley Rehab center yesterday evening. She will be there until she can walk on her own. Ever since the operation on March 19, she’s been in bed. Rehab will get her on her feet and see that she’s doing OK before letting her come home. This place is closer to the house then the hospital, so (I don’t think) it will take as much gas to drive back and forth.

I was going to NEVADA POWER today to pay some on the bill, but that’s a long way to drive. I can pay the bill at ALBERTSONS’, which is on the way to the Rehab center. The money will get to the power company just as quickly as if I went to the main office on West Sahara. The only problem with that is there isn’t an ARCO or a REBEL gas station close to either. The price of gas at those stations is about $2.97, which I think is the cheapest I’ll find. Gas prices go up or down on Thursday (lately they’ve been going up), so I need to get gas before they go up again.

I think I’m finally getting caught up on the laundry. I have discovered a bad habit when it comes to doing laundry. I don’t fold the cloths when I first take them out of the dryer, instead I put them in a basket or lay them on a love seat. I will admit that the cats like this, they have clean cloths to lay on all the time. Normally they lay on the sheets (unless I forget and put the sheets in the bottom of the basket instead of the top), so most of the cloths I wear don’t have cat hair on them when I put them away. Still my grandmother and mother always fold or hang up the cloths when they take them out of the dryer. Cloths fold better when they are warm from the dryer.
