THE WORD THAT IS LOVE
THE WORD THAT IS LOVE
Love is a four lettered word,
But it’s four fathoms deep.
None in the world, without love,
Can his sanity keep.
Without the mother’s love we
Would be lost long ago.
She’s the one who nurtures us
And life’s path does us show.
Without the love of the spouse,
Life would be truly hell.
This is what the litany
Of divorces does tell.
Without the love for one’s work,
The world would be idle.
Out of work and rest, I say,
Work is the more vital.
And, finally, Love of God
Is the love that’s supreme,
Without which all other loves
Are not much, it would seem.
Eros, the primordial,
Agape, filia;
These three are Love’s cardinal
Memorabilia.
