March 14th Prompt: Small town raucous
The Umbrella

In a settlement smaller than a piece of hay
The locals went wild on a not so dry day

You see precipitation was scarce in these here parts
And this is when the craziness really starts

An umbrella was the cause of this weird fight
It never mattered much who was wrong or right

But before you think them weird, a true oddity
Remember the umbrella is a rare commodity

The local store had no reason to stock but one
No need for more, when there was always sun

So the local sheriff came forward with a plan
He considered himself a very cunning man

“Lets share the umbrella, we’ll all fit,
Just gather all around, underneath it.”

Snickers took over the pouring sound
But low and behold they gathered around

Day after day, under the umbrella they roam
taking each local back to their home

My fable has finally come to an end
Make sure to pass it along to a friend
