Spokane today
We'll be leaving in a few minutes to go to Spokane for the twins' seventh birthday party. Hoped to fly, but the weather is foggy again. Seamus is happy though, 'cause he'll get to go too if we go in the car. Seamus is our old Bouvier, a good natured, deaf old fellow.
Since this is such a short blog entry and I may not get back to it later, I'll post this story that I like. I have a copy of it somewhere, but couldn't find it. Google found it. Isn't that amazing what can be found on the net?
A Cherokee elder sitting with his grandchildren told them, “In every life there is a terrible fight—a fight between two wolves. One is evil: he is fear, anger, envy, greed, arrogance, self-pity, resentment, and deceit. The other is good: joy, serenity, humility, confidence, generosity, truth, gentleness, and compassion.” A child asked, “Grandfather, which wolf will win?” The elder looked him in the eye. “The one you feed.”
This story applies well when I think about being annoyed and complaining, which I tend to do too often. Maybe even enjoy?
