Small brain in search of subject
My mind is but an empty room, silent and dark. Sometimes it's comforting, because when everyone knows I got nuthin' upstairs, they expect little from me (hee, hee). Even better, when I do accomplish something, it's always a pleasant surprise *Bigsmile*.

I had to walk to work today. Dave stole my Jeep! His truck had to be taken into the shop again. The 'Check Engine' light keeps coming on, and no one can seem to figure out why.

I enjoyed it, though. About 1/2" of snow fell last night giving the morning a hushed, sleepy feel. Plus it's warm - by North Dakota standards anyway at 32 degrees. Plus there's no wind to speak of. It made for a nice relaxing walk, and I only slipped once - had enough functioning brain cells not to fall on my butt.

It gave me also an opportunity to talk to God. That's always a joy. I had nothing of major import to say, except to ask for some focus. I received a letter last night from the Christian Writer's Guild listing all the editors, publishers, etc we can make appointments with at the conference. I once again realized I have no desire to meet with any of them and attempt to sell something - not even a 250 word devotion.

I wondered at that. I used to have passion for writing, but not lately. Umm, let me rephrase. I still have passion for writing, but marketing? Blech! I guess I'm comfortable with how things are going now. I could also be too confident in my manuscript currently in Winsun Literary's hands. I want nothing more than to get my book published. Articles, devotions, short stories, not so much, if at all.

Ever find yourself repeating a word or phrase over and over? In the last paragraph I wrote "not so much" three times! You don't see but one, because I noticed them and edited the other two out. At least that means my brain is working a little.

I'm hoping God will give me some direction about what to take with me to the conference. It'll have to be soon, because I need time to prepare. We'll see. (Is it presumptuous to put God on a deadline?)

In the meantime, hopefully I won't fall asleep at my desk even once today. My boss won't care to see me snore . . .
