Placentas

Twice tonight, while review surfing, I have encountered the word placentas. One was a poll concerning placentas and rutabagas and the other was a poem. Now most people would consider these encounters as coincident and leave it at that, but (as anyone knows who has read some of my entries in this journal) I don’t believe a coincident is a coincident.

Since I’ve encounter placentas twice, I suspect it means that I’m supposed to use the concept or the work in either a story, novel or poem. One idea I’ve came up with is a culture in which it is common for the family or tribe to eat the placenta after the birth of a child. There is a ritual of course (although at this point I’m not sure what the ritual is). I think that a cultural like that would have two different rituals and recipes; one ritual and recipe used with the birth of a girl and the other with the birth of a boy. I think that I’m going to have to do some research on rituals and placentas. That’s it with this subject for now.
