Words of a Slave
There are those
Who choose to be free
And there are those who are slaves
Just like me.
My master is kind
But Lord is he strict
If I don't do as I'm told
I get beat with a whip.
I only came to this land
For one simple thing
I heard Mr. King Jr. say,
"Let freedom ring".
So I stand on my knees
Before you today
And ask you one question
DO you hear what I pray?
I am just a slave
I am far from free
But I make myself this promise:
One day you will be.
