A Homeless Woman's Life
A young mother on her own
She no longer has a home
Her family put her out on the streets
And she digs through trash for food to eat.
Her child is her life
She was to be his wife
But he left her all alone
She's so skinny, you can see her bones.
Her child grows with no education
She teaches her it's not a vacation
It's the only place they have to live
She's given all she has to give.
As people walk by, they point and stare
They act as if they just don't care
I arrive home and invite them in
And then suddenly, they've found a new friend.
