New Font Sizes, Types, Emoticons and More!

Hello Members!

This NEWS post is packed full of important information. Read through to learn
about our new WritingML font sizes, font types, preformatted text, new emoticons
and even more!


:: New: Font Sizes Now Available! ::
Writing.Com is pleased to announce the addition of WritingML that provides the
ability to change the size of your font. We've created five sizes!

         Available Sizes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
                   WritingML usage example: {size:4}This is size 4.{/size}

Our standard font is a size 3, so we've added two sizes bigger and smaller.

Examples of each size:
         Size 1
         Size 2
         Size 3
         Size 4
         Size 5

Please use font size changes responsibly. Using a large font size for all of your
writings and postings is "bad etiquette". Doing this may be considered similar to
the use of "screaming" when writing in all caps and you are likely to lose readers.

View the complete list of WritingML font sizes in WritingML Help area found
in your Site Tools pull down menu. Once open, click on the Font Size Tags
link for the list.

Note: Font sizes are not available for use in BioBlocks, Billboards and a few
other areas where change of font size would alter a small area too much.


:: New: Fonts Now Available! ::
Writing.Com is pleased to announce the addition of WritingML that provides the
ability to change the font used. We've added six font faces!

         Available Fonts: Arial, Comic, Courier, Impact, Times, Verdana
                    WritingML usage example: {font:comic}This is comic.{/font}

Note: Arial is Writing.Com's standard font, so we've added five new fonts!

Examples of each font, in all 5 sizes:
         Font: Arial, Size 1

:: New: PreFormatted Text Now Available! ::
Introducing {pre} - Preformatted text! Enclosing text between {pre} and {/pre}
retains ALL of its spacial formatting.

Since Pre RETAINS all the spacing you put in, it's great for tables, like this:

            3                  36

            4                  48

Pre is also great for "visual poetry". Here's an example:

We're pleased to release the following 15+ new emoticons for use by all
members of Writing.Com in three new sets:
