US, I DO LOVE YOU BUT...

US, I DO LOVE YOU BUT...


O US, I do love you;
I hate your policies.
Colonialism is gone.
Why expand overseas?

If you don’t have enough oil
Then reduce consumption.
To control oil exporters,
Don’t threaten extinction.

O US, I do love you
But I don’t like the fact;
You made for WMD
With UK a vile pact.

You knew that WMD
Did not, in fact, exist.
Yet, in spreading this falsehood,
You did always persist.

O US, I love you but
I simply hate the war.
Thousands of body bags have
Arrived back home so far.

Why can’t you, O dear US,
Focus simply inward,
Rather than trying to have
A tight hold on the world?
