FALTERING SOUL
FALTERING SOUL

Mine is a faltering soul,
It's neither here nor there.
I don’t know it’s doomed or saved,
Nor, it is destined where.

I have been living this life
Almost as laissez faire.
I committed no sins, for
Worship I had no flair.

I lived from morn to sunset
As if there is no God.
To seek Him in the church I
Never did myself prod.

Though I did not pray to Him,
Yet I held Him in awe.
I tried to follow His path
As I in my heart saw.

I may not be baptized, nor
Be blessed by a priest;
I may not have been His sheep,
I may be just a beast.

Yet He is Father of all
And to all He is kind.
Saving a faltering soul,
I don’t think He will mind.
