EYES WITHOUT A FACE



I often see you in the dreams,
But I don’t see your face.
I only see two hazel eyes,
Hesitant, full of grace.

Those eyes smile at me and reach out
Deep down into my heart.
With them inside, it does not know
How it should play its part.

It jumps and starts and stops and runs,
But it can’t go from you.
Before it parts from you it will,
To the world, say adieu.

It matters not if I only
See eyes without a face.
But had it been otherwise, then,
It would be a disgrace.
