LIFE IS LIKE A SCHOOL: a sonnet
LIFE IS LIKE A SCHOOL: a sonnet
Bard did say that man’s life is like a stage,
But I say it is much more like a school.
Throughout life from birth till the ageing days,
We keep on adding to our knowledge pool.
We learn as a toddler to avoid fire.
We learn as a young man to court a flame.
As we grow old we learn to curb desire
And lead a life that is devoid of blame.
The real knowledge that we ought to learn
Often escapes us till we breathe our last:
To learn that we must serve Him and thus earn
That which will stay with us when life is past.
As from the school of life we graduate,
We must learn to love all, to no one hate.
