Oops, missed my goal.
August 31,2006 I said, in July, that by the end of August I hoped at least to have submitted some poem or story somewhere. Darn it. Today's the end of August, and I need to do something today!

Interesting Markets:

9/1/2006: Slugs - Tales of the Slug
<http://www.duotrope.com/market_1012.aspx> 1,000+ words postmarked 9/1

http://www.flashquake.org/guidelines.html starting Sept 1

http://www.thefirstline.com/ "It was her silent affirmations that kept her from going completely insane." by Nov 1: 300-3,000 words

http://angelsonearth.com/writers_Guidelines.asp Manuscripts 1500 words, Messages 50-250 words Why Me? August 31, 2006

I took the story "Why Me?" that I'd already written, about 450 words, and edited it down to 250. Got feedback on it from two people. One gave me lots of editing corrections, some of which I agreed with, but left the story at a lot more than the 250 words I'd pared it down to.

The second reviewer said she thought I needed to expand it.

In the meantime, between receiving the first review and the second, I copied two stories from the mag into word and checked for word count. They ran about 800 words each. I think I could do that, and the second reviewer's comment helped me reach that conclusion. I will do that by next week, and get one, if not both, versions sent off.
