Each snowflake, like each human being is unique. |
16 Asma 163 B.E. – September 4, 2006 There is nothing I enjoy more, or that makes me laugh quicker than weird news stories. I think it’s because they reveal human nature in a unique light. I found a new Weird News website called Fark.com. I found some interesting head lines on there today (September 4, 2006). Well, maybe interesting is the wrong word, the best way to describe Fark.com (http://www.fark.com/) head lines is bordering on the hilarious or half way between down right “pee your pants” funny and “it’s just too strange not to be true”. The subjects on this website cover a wide range of theme. Those are “Not News”, “Sports”, “Entertainment”, “Tech”, “Politics”, “Press”, “Video”, and “Voting”. Some interesting headlines follow. From Florida: “If you have an account at the UF sperm bank, you might need to make a new deposit” – “Sperm samples destroyed by mistake at UF” – This is from a Gainesville paper. Interesting B.B.C. item – “Scientist illustrates how humans attribute emotions or sentimentality to objects that they know are inanimate, such as wedding rings, cars or Al Gore” – “Woolly ruse incites irrationality” – This probably explains why some people refer to their cars as he or she. Item from Yahoo.com – “U. of Oklahoma professor invents device that can predict where lightning will strike. Crazy scientists everywhere eagerly await his device so they can obtain the 1.21 jigawatts of power they need to operate their Delorean time machines” - “Professor helps invent lightning sensor” – This is from Norman, OK. This is from the Daily Irreverence – “Researchers study sex by using an MRI to take pictures of participants during coitus, once again proving that people will have sex anywhere” – “Sex in an MRI Machine” – People do such odd things for science. Those are some of the news stories on Fark.com. Check it out, if for no other reason than to find a plot for a story. |
