GLOBAL COP



The US is great indeed;
Of this there is no doubt.
But its own greatness is the
Thing to worry about.

Too conscious of power, it
Tends to trample others.
About international laws
It rarely bothers.

The rest of the world views it
As a selfish monster.
With this view, more or less I
On my part do concur.

The mighty should not punish;
They should simply deter.
Why act as the global cop
And one’s own arbiter?
