Three monkeys sat in a dark cave by the ocean. Pitch black with nothing to convince the primates that they weren't dead but the roar of the waves as they crashed on the towering rocks outside. The youngest monkey grabbed some driftwood and made a small fire to warm his chilled bones and allow him to see his two companions. The eerie light cast the one closest to him's face in shadow as he gave a large smile, revealing several jagged yellowing teeth. The young monkey thought the other must be smiling at him until the fire flared and grew brighter to reveal that the smiling monkey had only empty sockets for eyes. Dried blood held the fur under his eyes together in clumps. The young monkey tried to scream but no sound came out as a large scabby hand slapped over his mouth from behind. The monkey turned to see his other companion frowning back at him with eyes as large as saucers. The youngest monkey's nose filled with the putrid stench of rotting flesh. His stomach churned and bile rose in his throat as his eyes watered and his nose burned. The wide-eyed monkey turned his head to reveal a large scab where a blunt dagger had torn his ears off. The stench grew worse as the young monkey looked closer to see maggots and ants swimming around the sticky pus oozing from the ear. The monkey could only gape as the deaf monkey pulled back his head and gave a loud scream of anguish and pushed him into a deep pit he did not see before. The young monkey looked up from his prison to find to see his captor but only saw the shadows dancing on the ceiling as the fire roared. A few moments passed in silence before the blind monkey peered over the edge and gave a great, yellow smile and a hearty laugh. A shovel full of dirt fell on the young monkey. He coughed and sputtered and finally looked up just in time to catch another mouthful. Another came, then another, and still another. They kept dumping more and more and were gaining momentum as the blind one filled the caves with uncontrollable laughter and wheezing echoing off the cave's walls. The deaf monkey chanted in a low monotone voice as they worked: Hear no Evil Speak no evil See no Evil Here no Evil Every syllable was emphasized by a shovel of dirt and howl of laughter from the blind monkey. As the chant grew quicker so did their work. The young monkey struggled against the weight of the dirt as it grew heavier and heavier. He could only see the dim glow of a few ashes with a little life in them die and he could only hear the maddening chant and laughter and the crashing of the waves as he waited there to die. Unable to move. Unable to scream. ============================ Based off a lamp my Ma bought me a while back with the infamous monkeys on them. You would have to see it to truley apreciate it's creepocity. |
