There is a place on site "Invalid Item"   [] by A Guest Visitor where one lists true and fictitious fortune cookie sayings adding the words "in bed" at the beginning. This was what I got yesterday:

In bed, "he who controls others may be powerful, but he who has mastered himself is mightier still." Hmmmmm ... . . .

Then there is "In church ..." "Invalid Item"   [] by A Guest Visitor

Two more fortune cookie sites:

In keeping with the "in bed" theme, a poetic sketch you should not read unless you are 18 +++

We made love

We made love in a fever,
no time for subtlety,
warm mouth to warm mouth,
a pucker there for free.

We made love in the shower
(with no home and no bed),
the urgent rub and tickle
(no privacy); instead,

we listened for the knocks,
the summons at the door.
No, it wasn't just raw sex
It was more (it was more).

The offer of wet lips
was receptive to our twitch.
We made love with a kiss,
sang duets in perfect pitch.

We made love in a fever.

In that moment,
we made love. [163.243]

15th street at sunset:

Cicadas; water sprinkling the lawns; small grasshoppers leaping out of my path; car squealing; big elm leaves; the olive fruit of ash; trees leaning at the edge towards light; grapevines; poison ivy berries; yellow cottonwood leaves; osage oranges the size of small grapefruits; sun, as I cross from the shady side of the street.

End of a day? Not quite. The flowers I planted Saturday somehow survived not being watered Sunday. In this heat, I expect quite a few will r.i.p. by next week. I do a little, come in, do a little more. The bus gets me here around 9 a.m. It would be better if I came earlier (I am not a morning person) or could do it in the evening (when I have more energy in spite of the heat).

Have been reading Cleaver and Baraka, so I'll have some comments on that soon. Been reading R. Hugo's earlier poems, but I like his later ones better.

'Done' with "A Pace of Grace" by Linda Kavelin Popov. Even had a nice conversation about sustainability yesterday at Classic Gourmet which dove-tailed with much of what the book is about.
