5 Rahmat 163 B.E. – June 27, 2006 A.D. When I tell people I write poetry, one of the responses I get is “I’m not that creative” or “I wish I could write a poem.” In this day and age any one can write a poem. All one need is a compute, access to the internet, and the cognitive ability to fill in the blanks. I found an interesting site today, it’s ETTC’s new and improved poetry forms. All you do is find the form and then put in the words. The website address is http://ettcweb.lr.k12.nj.us/forms/newpoem.htm and here are some of poems I created on that site. I Can’t Write A Poem Forget it You must be kidding I can't think of words that rhyme Nothing exciting ever happens to me I've been awake all night The neighbor's dog keeps barking at my cat People will laugh at me I'm not a creative person I don't know what I'm doing I've run out of excuses Time's up? Uh oh! All I have is a dumb list of excuses. You like it? Really? No kidding. Thanks a lot. Would you like to see another one? This Is The Poem That This is the poem that laughs in the woods at midnight, that walks because there is no place to run, because there is no place to hide. And when happiness brings tears to the soul of silence this is the poem that runs through the naked fields waiting for the snow of winter. Yes, That’s Me Yes, that’s me Look and you’ll see My hair is wind tossed My eyes are sapphire oceans My arms are ready to embrace My hands are trembling with joy My heart ready to love I’m patience personified I never laugh at you My friends are idealism and excellence I live in unity and love I hope for self-discipline I dream creativity It’s all clear as can be. That’s positively, absolutely me |
