Entering contest, stepping out
I am working on a cover letter to go with a story I'm submitting to a national contest. If I should be one of the fifteen (15 isn't many) winners, I would attend a Writers Workshop in New York for five days, all expenses paid. I would learn about writing first-person inspirational stories and would possibly become a writer for Guideposts magazine.
I have the story, but the letter, which is to tell about me and my writing experience, is giving me trouble for some reason. How do I make myself interesting without it sounding arrogant or bragging? Ish. I don't do well with that.
Jacque Graham called this contest to my attention, and she nearly stood over me to get the story ready. The deadline is June 24, so I am running out of time to get this letter finished.
Oh, God, I really need Your help. I can't do this on my own.
*And a voice keeps saying over and over, "Just stop drawdling and start writing."*
