More cinquains, Rekohu
*Balloon6*           SPRING: 13 'Azamát (29 May)          *Balloon6*

Weather where I am: 76º.
Weather in Jamestown, NY where my cousins are: 84º.
Weather in the Rekohu (Chatham Islands), New Zealand: 57º (like all week).

Rekohu (Chatham) is part of New Zealand. It sits about 43 degrees south and surrounded by water has a cool oceanic climate. Less than 1,000 hardy souls live there. Many descended from the Moriori original inhabitants.

QUOTES

"Worthless as tits on a boar hog", "Kiss my tailfeathers" (re Hector, the cockatiel, harrassing Lamont) Hubbard Collinsworth
"A pocket of Hot Boys", Erin.
"Hey, Peach fuzz", Eric to Billy.
"The afternoon-delights are wonderful, but ..." Robin, being frustrated.

Don't dare say anything around me!

Now ... funny things people say and do encourage me to write short poems. The American cinquain is a 22 syllable, five line poem that doesn't rhyme. The lines are 2-4-6-8-2. The rhythm is alternating. Of course, I KNOW the rules, just don't always follow them! The hockey poems that were published are cinquains for example. A loooooooong list of my cinquains can be found at: "Cinquains - five line poems (the hockey poems are #89, 90 and 93). Been awhile since I've updated them! Must have over 150 by now. If not, soon will *Bigsmile*.

The Tattooed Billy-goat

Peach fuzz,
blueberry eyes.
If I scooped his melon,
would his seed taste like warm sweet dreams
or sighs? [163.166a]

Zack on the phone

Nailed lip
and swashbuckle,
needs to keep his pants up,
attitude in check, his necklace
noosed loose. [163.166b]

Maddie at 2

See her
purple binki?
The angel flaps her wings,
sucks her raspberry butterfly,
throws it. [163.167a]

Hypericum when it rains

By her
golden flowers,
the wet robin awaits
for me to feed her wiggly worms
or leave. [163.166b]

IMAGES

White delicate fungus on a wound of a Linden tree; White West Highland Terrier named Oz.

Squirrel eating mulberries, birds chattering above; red door, green awning of La Parilla; garbage overflowing from dumpsters; man in a rainbow shirt at the back entry of Ben and Jerry's.

A wet robin by the hypericum; drops in the puddles; the cool refresh of air; after the rain, the scent of yarrow.
