marcus is coming! apparently i was so sick that it didn't register when he said he'd be in town for a conference this week, but i have since figured it out, and he's going to stay over one of those nights, friday or saturday. i can't stop smiling about it.

further proof (and don't mock me here) that this bracelet is actually magic. i bought it at this turkish art store in bluebell, pennsylvania; round jade-colored hand-painted evil-eye beads alternated with australian crystal, thirty-eight dollars, a poor college student's equivalent of a fine jewelry investment. ha. anyway, the lady, who was (impressively) actually turkish, was explaining to me about the evil eye symbol...a longish and sort of complicated explanation, but what it boiled down to, and what she wrote on the slip of paper she handed me, was "this will bring you luck."

i don't believe in magic charms or whatever, but i like cute little treasures like that, and it has brought me good luck, thus far. including marcus, coming up. and also, just, generally good days, which i'm hoping will continue till i break or lose the bracelet. (soon.)
