Birthday Party
Saturday we had a birthday for Jacob. He is 3 years old already!! Next thing you know, he will be driving me around! *Bigsmile*

Since he was first introduced to it, he has a huge obsession of Thomas the Train. He can tell you what any of the different train cars names are and what type they are. Uncle Gene would LOVE him!! *Smile* With this in mind, my Uncle Joe carved an 8 piece train set out of wood for him. It is beautiful and durable...key for his rough-play tendancies! *Wink*

As I sat there watching his eyes light up and him continue to play with it for the rest of the night I got to thinking. My Uncle Joe is 81 years old...there is no telling how much longer he will have the ability to create such wonderful things. This made me sad because I am no where near to having a child and they will not have the opportunity to receive such meaningful gifts. Not to say I expect gifts for my child or that the gifts they would receive wouldn't be meaningful...guess it is hard to explain. Oh, how about this. The gifts he has made for both Justin and Jacob are the type of gifts that they both love now and are durable enough to be handed down to their children's children. Make sense now??
