JOYS AND TRAVAILS—a titrina
JOYS AND TRAVAILS: a tritina—award winner

We often lament about our travails,
Unmindful that we do also have joys
That are denied to so many others.

But while we are ignorant of others’,
We are too conscious of our own travails,
Forgetting to thank God for all our joys.

No, life is not meant to be full of joys.
We should try to pass our joys to others,
And share with them some of their own travails.

Travails and joys are shades but each other’s.
