Feeling Bad
I sent my mom an email this morning, which I am feeling really bad about.

Smokey, my cat I've had since 1989, which still lives at my parents, has not been doing well. A few years back he became diabetic. This involved us taking him to the vet 2 to 3 times a week for multiple months to have his blood taken so we could regulate his insulin. We were giving him insulin shots twice a day.

During the past couple years there was twice that he started going into a diabetic shock. The last time was so bad we believe he had a stroke. This has caused his back legs not to work properly, his eye sight has started to fail and instead of purring he growls. Oh and he started to lose control of his bodily functions if ya know what I mean.

In the past couple of months his accidents have increased. My mom does her best to clean up after him and give him regular baths, but it just doesn't seem fair to either one of them.

So after thinking about it all last night I sent her an email this morning. I basically told her in a nice way that it is beyond his time and asked her to think about it. Surprisingly she replied agreeing with me, but said she just couldn't do it; however, if my dad or brother were willing to take him in she'd let it happen.

I feel terrible. Although it is what I wanted, the reality of it is so sad and upsets me more knowing how hurt my mom is. Not at me, but at the situation.

I just talked to my dad and he agreed to take Smokey in since neither my mom or I could do it, but he will allow my mom time to say her good bye's. *Cry*
