Mixed Feelings

On my way to work this morning the radio station I had on was discussing a sentencing that was given yesterday. Months ago a 22 year old guy killed a police officer. The police officer was on the expressway pulling over a driver when the 22 year old guy, who had been drinking and was doing nearly twice the speed limit, hit and killed him.

The court decided to punish this individual he would have to serve 93 days in jail...that is it! They took away the charges of 2nd degree murder and man slaughter and charged him for drunk driving...mind you this was his second offense for drinking and driving.

They compared to a recent sentencing that was in Colorado where a woman was convicted for having parties at her home for her high school aged daughter and their friends. She would supply them with drugs and alcohol and had sex with 5 of the underaged boys. She was sentenced for 30 years in jail with parol in 10 years.

There were many calls on this and the majority of the people were stating the 22 year old guys sentence should be much, much longer. Makes you wonder about our judicial system, eh?!
