I AM NOW SIMPLY A WRECK

[The flame of old love, too late, too weak.]



I don’t know what you find in
My vacant and blank eyes.
They reflect my lonely world
Of dark clouds and grey skies.

My world is a vast desert,
Oasis it has none.
After being trapped inside it,
Exits from it no one.

My world is a deep forest,
Bereft of all sunshine.
It has dark ravines in which,
Once lost, one has to pine.

My world is a sea full of
Piranha and the shark,
From which to save anyone
Is an endeavour dark.

The deadly desert, forest,
And the deadlier sea,
Are all truly camouflaged
By my eyes’ reverie.

No, my love, no more I have
That heart I gave you once.
I am now simply a wreck,
Fading into silence.
