Interesting Words
I am subscribe to two daily newsletter groups that send you a new word each day. One is Doctor Dictionary: Word of the Day and the other is Wordsmiths: A.Word.A.Day.

Doctor Dictionary: Word of the Day

abstemious ab-STEE-mee-uhs, adjective:
1. Sparing in eating and drinking; temperate; abstinent.
2. Sparingly used or consumed; used with temperance or
moderation.
3. Marked by or spent in abstinence.

This is how the doctory dictionary entry comes. In addition to the word, pronunciation and definition it gives the word used in a sentence. Example: An abstemious diet guaranteed she was not over weight. Doctor Dictionary uses quotes from from books.

Wordsmiths: A.Word.A.Day

taupe (toap, rhymes with rope) noun

A brownish gray, similar to the color of moleskin.

[From French taupe (mole), from Latin talpa.]

OK, taupe may not be an interesting word. These are good sources for new words and interesting facts about the words.
