LOVE AND GOLD

[Love is basic to life, gold is not. The two are opposites.]


What is love? why do I love?
I don’t know the answers.
But I know that it is love
That makes life worth living.

If I don’t love or if I
Am not loved by others,
Life will be without purpose;
It will be so lonely!

It is love and faith that give
Strength to the poorest man.
It was love that gave strength to
Son of a carpenter.

‘Love all, love the meek and poor,
But don’t love the riches;
The rich can’t enter heaven’;
Was what His son had taught.

Love and gold can’t co-exist;
Gold drives away true love.
We can have either of them;
The wise discard the gold.
