The ups and downs of being single in your 30's...early 30's that is.

Proper Etiquette
One of my friends recently got married. She is from Michigan, but after receiving her doctorate (sp) she got a job in Washington. This is where she met her now husband...he was her moving man! *Smile*

After being there a short while her job was eliminated. She searched for a job for several months and ended up moving to Indiana...man in tow! They got married at the Justice of Peace in Indiana on May 5, 2005 and will be having a small reception in Washington for his friends and family and one in Michigan for her friends and family.

It has been a while since I have seen her, but we keep in touch through email. Thank goodness for technology!! *Smile* I have one small dilema. On her invitation to this reception, which is a small gathering at her parents house for a couple hours...basically for everyone to meet her new man, it indicated not to bring any gifts.

Do I really go to see my good friend who recently got married empty handed?? Would it be an insult if I did bring something?? Granted I know they both are rather well off so they are not hurting by any means, but it still feels a little odd for me. Anybody been in this situation?????
