SUNRISE TO SUNSET
SUNRISE TO SUNSET

[Sun's journey as seen through the eyes of the poet]

Dark and silent pregnant night
Glows up,sun is delivered
Behind the lofty curtains
Of tall mountains, snow covered.

The nascent sun rubs its eyes
And slowly crawls up the mount.
Once there, sun, in its youth prime,
Spreads its brilliance all around.

Its hot arrogance at noon
Makes it unwelcome, scorching.
But arrogance hath a fall,
It comes down by the evening.

In the evening of life all
Do mellow down, undoubted.
Sun, too, is no exception,
Its radiance is now shrouded.

It goes down the horizon,
Where the sea and the sky merge,
To rest in the ocean depths
In the morning, to emerge.
