THE WINDOW OF MY HEART [After bitter exposure to the world around, the poet shuts off from the world]. To world at large I’m closed today, My heart’s window I’ve closed today. Sometimes came in through it cool breeze That lulled me and put me to ease. Sometimes came in through it winds hot That scorched my hope and dream and thought. Sometimes came in through it snow storm That froze my heart, nay, my whole form. Sometimes came in through it hope sweet, That somehow made my woes retreat. Sometimes came in through it sighs soft. Whose? Mine or my love’s, I know not. Sometimes came in a hazy face Smiling? Having a hating gaze? From whence those winds, that haunting face, Those sighs and smiles, I cannot trace. These have made my life real hell A life impossible to dwell. My heart’s window I’ve closed today I close my life to all today. * Written in aa, 8-8 format M C Gupta ‘Khalish’ Created: 23 April 2003 as item 760243, where it was rated 4.5 by 5 viewers Deleted as independent item: 13 April 2005 ======= * TRANSLATED FROM MY HINDI POEM GIVEN BELOW: DIL KI KHIDKII Lo maine aaj apne dil ki khidkii band kar daalii. Kabhi aisi hawa madhosh is khidki se aatii thii, Mujhe rah rah ke swapnil god mein apnii sulaatii thii. Kabhii aise thapede garm loo ke is se aate the, Sabhi armaan mere dil ke jo jhulsaa ke jaate the. Kabhii wo barf si thandii hawayein sansanaatii thiin, Mere maasuum dil ko betarah jhakjhor jaatii thiin. Kabhii aashaa kiran aisii merii khidki mein aatii thii, Naye ek rang mein jiiwan ko mere dhaal jaatii thii. Kabhii raaton ko is khidkii se koi aawaaz aatii thii, Mere dil ki kasak thi ya sisak ya mere saathii kii. Kabhii dhundhalaa sa ek chehraa nazar khidkii se aataa thaa, Paraayaa tha ya wo apanaa, ye dhokaa de ke jaataa thaa. Hawaayein mukhtalif andaaz kii, ye mukhtalif chehre, Jinhone daal rakhe the mere chaaron taraf ghere. Khalish lo aaj in se is kadar ghabaraa gayaa huun main, Hawaaon, chehron , aawaazon se aaziz aa gayaa huun main. Lo maine aaj apne dil ki khidkii band kar daalii, Main tanhaa ho gayaa huun zindagii ab tarq kar daalii. REQUEST-- These items have 0 rating.
