Smiles, a few tears, joy, and sorrow
I wasn't able to write an entry yesterday for several reasons, some happy, some not so happy.

Brenda arrived, and we were so glad to see her. Of course, Bob didn't enjoy her arrival at all - well, not too much - yeah, sure. They haven't seen each other since August.

Robert and I welcome good things happening on December 20, since that's the day our baby died thirty-six years ago. How strange that the memory of the pain and heartache continue to remain after so long.

Becky should be here today, and Robert teased her a bit when she came online last night from the motel where she stopped. Silly girl, she went through Nebraska and added to her experiences by driving through a snow storm and some ice to get south to God's country.

Tonight is the family Christmas. No one wanted me to cook, so we're going out for dinner and then return to the house for gifts and visiting. Robert has been looking forward to this night for weeks. I hope he doesn't get too tired today to enjoy this evening.

Robert is doing rather well for all the excitement. Maybe the excitement keeps his spirits up enough for him to be stronger for a while. He enjoys having family around.

Last night Robert started telling his stories again. Bob started the tape recorder, so some of what he said is on tape. I hope we can record more.

The weather people are predicting that we will have snow starting about midnight tonight. Hopefully it will be light enough that roads will be clear by noon tomorrow. We want to attend the play at the Pollard Theater in historical Guthrie tomorrow night. They do an adaptation of A Christmas Carole titled A Teritorial Christmas Carole.

There will be about twenty-three people at the dinner tonight. Robert's mother, brother and his wife, and their younger daughter and her three girls are planning on attending, too. Miracles do happen. Robert's mother now wants to see him and be around him.
