A Thanksgiving Prayer

With the ash-grey cat at my feet,
the wind at my back,
may I wish that you always have the
strength to handle your future
be it easy or difficult.

May the Irish prayer be your guide,
may the final test of holding dreams
in your hand herald the truth
for you with compassion.

May you take each day with the
course of many happy others,
perhaps, answered in autumn
by a prayer for a rose-colored
sunset during this Thanksgiving
season.

May you have courage to belong
to progress, as many good spirits
appear in the scope of your
mind's-eye.

May grace take you in,
and find a place in your heart
and may your journey through life
find the best answers
to your problems,
for the battles;
which when overcome,
will cause a bountiful season.
