Isabel's Come and Gone
But she has left a trail of damage and debris that will take a while to clean up.
My Internet access has been limited by my laptop battery and a dial-up connection, but it's tolerable.
Our area got hit hard, but not as hard as predicted. It veered a bit farther west than we had expected, sparing us some of the wind and rain, but still, that meant Richmond got more of it.
Other than the huge tree branch that fell from a neighbor's even larger tree took our gutter and did some superficial damage to the roof when the gutter was ripped free. We also lost a few storm windows and have a damaged storm door. Not much considering that omany lost homes or had trees fall directly onto their cars, crushing them.
Our biggest problem right now is lack of electricity, and it has been reported that it may take days, maybe even a week or more, to get our electicity back. The crews are out working 24 hours a day to get everything back, but there was so much damage that it may take longer than anticipated.
