On a similar note . . . .
Call me a softie, but I have made it a point not to rate items that deal with the recent loss of a loved one, if that is obviously the case. The item is usually emotion-laden, and often hurridly done. After my Dad died (09/08/01) I wrote a euology to give at his funeral, and gave it. Six months later, I was able to edit it into a more coherent piece that now resides on my personal web site. But, had someone critiqued it with the harshness it deserved on the day of the funeral, I might have had real problems accepting it, human as I am.
Another dilemma!
